Archives for August, 2008

In your specific case I would just focus on leveling up your highest level character and have it hit level 70 as soon as possible instead of creating a new character and starting all over again. Anyway, you want to know which class levels up the fastest and i’ll let you know. When Will Season 3 Arena Start?
So if you do decide to start fresh on a new character, be sure to choose a hunter and also I highly recommend using either this Horde Leveling Guide or this Alliance Leveling Guide. They both are focused on using hunters and are the best guides I have seen when it comes to powerleveling. Not to mention that Hunters are an extremely easy class to play. So if you are looking for a class to level up quickly your best bet would be to use a hunter. There has been tons of people who have leveled to 60 in around 4 days and 20 hours but that was only possible using a hunter.

Hunters level up the fastest in World of Warcraft. How do I know this? Firstly, my first character was an Alliance Night Elf Hunter which made it to level 55 before I switched over to playing Apadwe all the time. Secondly, just take a look at which class was the winner of the leveling contest Blizzard had on a test server a while back….yep, you guessed it. It was Joana which was of course a hunter. Click here to learn more about Joana’s accomplishments.

What really makes the Hunter the fastest leveling class? In my opinion it can be summed up by two words….range and pet. When playing a hunter having a pet is like having another character level with you and as long as your pet can hold aggro you really have a tanking machine and can easily take on mobs that are way higher level than you are.

The short answer I have a Blood Elf Paladin I have been playing with my wife’s BE Hunter and even though we have hit level 34 in 2 days and 9 hours /played time it has taken us 2 months real life time in order to get that much time logged on our characters. If you don’t level up with one certain person then this may not be an issue for you. There will be certain trade-offs no matter what you decide to do because World of Warcraft tries to cover as many gaming styles as it can.

In the end it really is totally up to your playing style and I believe an even balance between soloing and grouping can help you achieve level 70 in a decent amount of time. Remember, part of the fun is the journey to level 70 and will be a lot more fun for you if you look at it like that.
to this is yes and no. Before you get confused from this let me give my reasoning behind the answer.

There really are places that solo leveling will benefit you the most as you will get more experience points for it. I soloed all the way to level 60. Granted I wasn’t the fastest one to get there but I did make it.

After level 60 I would focus a lot more on getting small groups leveling with you. It is still possible to do solo but I really had a hard time with it and kept dying a lot. Keep in mind I also wasn’t equipped in tier sets either, that could make a difference as well.

Anyway, power leveling solo can benefit you greatly as you will earn more experience points, can level at your own time and pace, and it really makes it easier to stay focused. I tend to not be very focused when grouped up with people.

Some of the downfalls of soloing is you will probably die more, you can easily get bored, and you will not be able to do instances.gratis wow powerleveling guide:Is It Good To Level Doing 5-Man World of Warcraft Instances?

With grouping you earn less experience (but can kill mobs faster), can be difficult to find a trusting group if you are not in a guild, harder to stay focused and stay on task, and if you level up strictly with someone then you may find it hard to coordinate playtime together.

I feel that leveling up your character to 70 and running instances can’t really be put together well or quickly. With that said it will usually
Even then you have to be careful because if the group is crap and keeps wiping your experience per hour pretty much disappears and just leaves you with The few times I would group up with players for instances was when the group was already together except for one person (me) and if I had tons of rest state to work off of. a repair bill you would have been without if you would have just grinded and quested solo.If you are in a guild and it is extremely easy to get a great group together then you might benefit from it greatly.

One thing I highly recommend is that you go into instances only when you have a lot of rest state built up. That might make it more worthwhile to go into an instance.
Some people like to do these for gear as well as experience but I found that quest rewards will usually gear you out well enough to level you up to 70 when you can really focus on getting great gear that won’t become obsolete in a few levels.
be faster to not worry about doing instances at all until you hit level 70.

When I was leveling up I would rarely ever go into any instance to level. It really just takes too long to put together a good group and while you might make more experience in the instance you will probably get more experience per hour just grinding mobs and questing by yourself. What Is A WoW Druid’s Role In The Warsong Gulch Battleground?

That’s because you will experience a lot of downtime when trying to get a group together and an hour or two can easily fly by while you are trying to put a group together and get over to the instance.

For a druid in the Warsong Gulch battleground, your job will more than likely be as the flagbearer. While this is a very important role,
Druids should train to become the flagbearer before heading into Warsong Gulch and taking on this role. Find a friend or friendly player who is a druid and run with them to learn what you need to watch for, and skills you need to master, so you can become one of the best druids in WSG. it also makes you the main target to the opponent. So, if you are a druid in Warsong Gulch, and you are chosen as the flagbearer, then you can expect to draw every enemy player’s fire, as well as those friendly players who can help protect you.World of Warcraft Paladin PvP Build?

Since the flagbearer is the numero uno target here in WSG, you will need to be completely sure that you can carry the flag and survive. Flagbearers need to be able to survive their run through with the flag, and since druids can take on animal forms (especially cat and bear form), this is why they are perfect to play this role. While in an animal form, a druid gains speed and armor or stamina, which makes it easier to run and get away from enemy players if they attack you.

Don’t you love major changes in new patches? With the addition of WoW patch 2.3 there were tons of changes to AV that you have already saw.It makes for some longer AV matches but the good part is “turtling” really doesn’t slow down the game that much. As a matter of fact I was in an Alterac Valley last night and the Alliance tried to turtle to slow us down but it really sped up our win even though we never did kill Vanndar Stormpike.

Team Class Combo?
First off, the new structure of AV has shifted the focus back to PvP for Alterac Valley instead of just NPC killing. Now, the way it works is each team starts out with 600 Reinforcements (which displays in the top middle of the screen). Each time you take a tower it will decrease the other teams number of reinforcements. The first team to lose all of their Reinforcements loses.

So, how do you make the other team lose reinforcements? That’s pretty simple…you just need to capture enemy towers, kill Captain Galvangar or Balinda Stonehearth, kill other players, and kill General Drek’Thar or Vanndar Stormpike depending which team you are on. Killing Drek’Thar or Vanndar Stormpike reduces the team’s reinforcements down to zero so they are still very much important in the grand scheme of things.

This question has been all the buzz since patch 2.3 came out. Blizzard originally planned to start Season 3 one week after patch 2.3 came As we approach the previously announced start date we’ve had growing concerns of what the new season requires of us to actually launch, and its proximity to the Thanksgiving holiday. Everyone wants the launch go as smoothly as possible, and in order to have resources available to tend to any issues as soon as they may spring up, we’ve decided to delay the Season 3 start date to November 28. One week after the previously announced date. The WoW Arena?
out which would put the start of Season 3 on November 20th.

But wait…This allows us to have the quickest response time to any issues should they occur. While making everyone wait another week obviously isn’t the optimal outcome, in the end we decided it would be much worse to start Season 3 so close to the holiday and potentially make players wait longer until a problem can be resolved. Ultimately it allows us to provide the best possible service for everyone as we launch the new season.
Blizzard, yesterday, has actually pushed the start date to the S3 arena and it will not take place until Nov. 27th. The reasoning behind this push back isn’t a technical one but it has to do with that upcoming holiday called Thanksgiving.  I really consider it a good move for Blizzard to make just in case tons of bugs pop up and they wouldn’t be staffed enough to handle them during the Thanksgiving weekend. I am like you, I really want this season 3 to get off on the right foot and sooner rather than later. Oh well, that gives us one more week of honor grinding before the season 1 items come available at the honor vendors.

Here is Blizzard’s official post on the matter:

Everyone is preparing for the start of the third arena season and we’re excited to get new items, rewards, and fresh competition going for everyone participating in the arenas.

A Warlock’s role in Arena is simple: Kill things. WoW Warlocks are a primary source of damage on any arena teams.
Tactics
Warlocks are often relied upon to crowd control in Arena Combat. Often they will be assigned an opponent that they are to keep feared for as long as possible. Warlocks are very successful against caster opponents because of their array of abilities that can be used to interrupt casting. While it varies with spec, some of these are: Felguard intercept stun, Shadowfury, Fear, Howl of Terror, and Felhunter Spell Lock. Their ability to do damage over time gives them greater mobility around the battlefield. In addition, Warlocks tend to have greater survivability than other cloth wearing casters. The talent spec that a Warlock needs to use is largely dependent on the size of the arena team and the class and specs of their teammates.

Affliction
Affliction spec’d Warlocks focus on doing damage over time. They have several abilities, many of which are instant-cast, that will slowly diminish an opponent. Affliction Warlocks also specialize in draining health and mana from their opponents to restore themselves. Spec’ing deep into Affliction will grant the Warlock an instant-cast AOE fear.

Destruction
Destruction spec’d Warlocks focus mainly on burst damage. They have several talents that will incapacitate an opponent for short amounts of time.

Demonology
Demonology spec’d Warlocks have many talents and abilities that enhance their pets. They also gain the ability to summon a Felguard, a special pet unavailable to other Warlock spec. An important ability that Demonology Warlocks use is Soul Link – it causes all damage done to them to split 20% with their pet. If they are using a Felguard, which has a very large hit point pool, it makes killing them exceedingly difficult. Felguards also have an intercept stun ability that makes them ideal spell interrupters.

Desired Classes
It is argued that the best healer class for a 3v3 team to use is druids because they have 3 very handy crowd control abilities. They can put hunter pets to Sleep, entangle players in Roots, and envelope their opponents in Cyclone – a spell that can only be cleansed using a PvP trinket. Frost mages are very desirable as a ranged DPS class because of Ice Block, Frost Nova, Polymorph, and Summon: Water Elemental. Warriors are also very desirable because of Hamstring, Mortal Strike, and Intercept.
“best” arena combo for any of the match-ups. However, there are definitely some principles that one can consider when creating their arena team.

Balance
A good 3 vs 3 arena team must have a dedicated healer and two dedicated DPS classes. While it is recommended that the two DPS classes not be of the same type of damage – ie: both melee, both magic – occasionally such a combo will work. For example, the double warrior paladin combo has been known to be among one of the best. Usually a team will want to have one ranged damage class and one melee damage class, such as Rogue/Warlock, Warrior/Mage, etc.

Healing
The dedicated healer in a 3v3 team needs to be one that can survive sustained damage. For this reason, holy priests are not frequently found on the top-rated 3v3 teams as they have much less survivability than Paladins and Druids.

Crowd Control
Additionally you will want to ensure that at least to of your 3v3 members are able to use some form of crowd control. In 3v3 it is usually a race to see who can kill the other teams healer OR “squishy” DPS first. Therefore being able to neutralize their damage-dealers for any amount of time can be the difference between winning and losing – very quickly.

This is a difficult question to answer because PvP is a very general category. The best build is going to Battlegrounds
Usually the key to whether a team wins in a battleground or not is dependant on their healing. Because of this most people are going to want you to heal in battlegrounds. If that really isn’t your style, go for a heavy damage and survivability build, much like a soloing spec.
depend on what situation you are encountering PvP. If you play on a PvP server and are concerned about surviving ganking attempts while out in the world, the best build is going to be part protection part retribution. If you are in an arena the best build is going to be a mix of holy and protection. If you are in a battleground, well, everyone is going to WANT you to heal but you may be able to do a little damage with a protection/retribution mix. Lets break it down a little bit further.

Arena Specs
The generally accepted “best spec” for arena Paladins is 41 holy, 20 protection. Key talents included in this build are 2/2 Stoicism, 5/5 Spiritual Focus, 5/5 Illumination, 3/3 healing light, Blessing of Kings, 3/3 Impoved Righteous Fury, as many points into Toughness as possible, and 3/3 Improved Concentration Aura.

Soloing Specs
If you are a paladin and want to be able to kill most people in a 1v1 situation, your best bet is to go with a protection/retribution mix. This will also be the preferred spec for soloing in most PvE situations as well, so it works out.
